Otago museum trip

Wednesday the 27th of May the whole school travelled to Dunedin to visit the Star Lab at the Otago Museum. It was a lot of fun and we learnt some interesting things about stars and their constellations.
Did you know that:
-The big red star in the sky is a giant star called Betelgeuse! This star is larger than the sun but is billions of light years away. Eventually it will blow up however when this happens we will not see it until 300 years later!  This means it may of already happened but we do not know.
-There are 88 constellations, we cannot see them though because they are different in the southern and northern hemisphere.
