Today we had three very special visitors in the Senior Room; Janelle, Frank and Chip. Frank is a baby possum and Chip is a baby rooster. After their exciting visit we decided to write about them and describe different features. Here is what some of the students had to write about them.

Janelle walked in the door into the classroom with a white bucket.
Colour - Janelle let the chicken out of the bucket.
The chicken was almost camouflaged because it was so white.
Texture- The feathers were soft. Chip had a hard crown and it was very bumpy. The beak was hard and smooth.
Shape - Chip had a round body. It’s head was a round circle. Chip’s legs looks like sticks
Chip was a really nice chicken and it was really loud.

Ashley screamed! As he was clawed at he ran around. “Ashley! Stop!”
Frank the baby possum smelled like dishwashing powder and sulfur. When you went right up to him and smelled him the stench of washing machine powder and sulfur filled your nose. He smelled fresh and clean but at the same time he also smelled bad.
Frank felt so fluffy like a cosy blanket that you would want to lie under all night it was that warm it felt like a fluffy kitten. His nose was squishy like a stress ball. Frank’s claws were hard like a piece of metal.
Frank has cinnamon brown fur on his head tail feet and body. His feet were a mix of pink and skin color. Frank had brown eyes and slightly transparent yellow brown and white claws the underneath of his tail was the same color as his feet the inside of his ear was light brown.

As Janelle walked into the room I heard “chirp, chirp” What is it? the mystery lies ahead.
Janelle unravels a blanket and Holly takes the cover off the white bucket “chirp chirp”. As a head popped up it was a chicken and its name was Chip. The smell of Chip was unbearable. He smells like out of date mustard.
It's colour was yellow mixed with white It was a great and his feet were short and he had duck feet and I think he was really neat and friendly the one thing I was afraid I was going to picking out eye.
Has texture was soft and furry chip loved people.

The baby Possum has a thick, bushy tail, a pointed short snout and a long, fox-like straight ears.
Frank is a baby Possum, he is somewhere in between 5 to 6 months old and is really cute.
We got Frank because one day Dad and I went to check the possum traps and in the last possum trap there was a mother possum who had a joey in her pouch, Dad told me to go back up to the truck with her and start plucking, while he reset the trap, but when he came back and I was sitting in the truck he turned over the possum and said “Holly, where is that joey”.
When we got home went to show mum when she said to go put him in a sock, so about 6 weeks later he is getting really big and we were going to take him to school.
We saved chip by taking him out of his egg shell and putting him under a heat lamp to warm him up.
About 5 weeks later I went home to help mum bring Frank and our new baby chip the chick, When we got into the classroom everybody was on there feet and wanting to see and give them a cuddle.
Everybody was fussing over the animals, and when Frank darted to the nearest person everybody started really still, all except Ashley, who, for his reward got Frank climbing all over him and giving him scratches.

We had a moving tree hunter in our class today and he attacked my friend.
Frank the possum’s fur colour is bistre. Bistre is a mix in between light brown and dark brown. Frank is pale magenta under his tale and under his paws, pale magenta is a light pink with a little bit of dark pink added.
Frank the possums fur is very fluffy but also very short. Franks fur feels very soft and smooth but is really scruffy. He has no fur under his tale.
Franks claws are really sharp and if he was in the wild he would use them a lot to get away from animals he thinks could hurt him. He used his razor sharp claws to climb up my friend because he thought he was a tree and he thought someone was going to attack him.
