On Monday the 27th we had sports activator with Greer. The Senior Room learned some soccer skills, like how to dribble, what part of the foot to use to kick and how to manoeuvre the ball around people.
First up we played a game of Donkey Tails to get warmed up. Donkey Tails is a game where you have to tuck your bibs into your shorts as a tail and everyone is trying to take your tail off you. The aim of the game is to get the most tails.
After that we played a game to test our dribbling skills, where we had to dribble the ball around the area. We were allowed to kick other people's ball out of the square. An addition to this we played a game called Shark Attack. This was when someone was 'in' and everyone else had to try and protect their ball so the "Shark" couldn't kick our ball out.
Penultimately we had a competition, which was a lot like ten pin bowling, where we took turns at kicking soccer balls off cones. Each team had six balls they had to try and knock off the cones. It was an excellent game where people showed their competitive side. #blueteamwerethewinners
Finally we took part in an activity called Number Soccer. We split into two teams and Greer would call a number and that number of people ran around a cone and had to score a goal. We had to work together to get a goal or stop the other team from scoring. This taught us to use eye-foot co-ordination and we had to be on attack and defence at all times.
