ICT Apps

Welcome back to term 2! Make sure you keep checking the blog every week for updates of what has been happening in the Senior Room.

This afternoon the Senior and Middle room joined up to play around with some educational chrome apps to enhance and support their learning. Students could pair up or go solo while searching the Webstore for apps on their chromebooks. Students had to add the app to their computer so they had to be sure it was going to be worthwhile. They looked at reviews written by other people who had used the app and also the description of the app to choose whether the app was appropriate. Students did some investigating of the app and made sure they understood how to use the app properly.

Once the students were 'experts' on their apps, we then came back as a class and went through the wide variety of apps that we had found. Students then chose an app they wanted to find out more about and we split off into smaller groups. The person who had found the app was now the teacher to the small groups if their app was one that got chosen.

It was a rewarding experience for the children and hopefully they will be able to use the apps they found today and will continue to find to help support and enhance their learning.
