End of swimming fun!

After a gruelling three weeks of swimming lessons, the last day was a chance to learn some survival skills. The students learned what type of equipment floated and those that did not. The students also discovered how tricky it was to put on a life jacket while in the water.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our parents for transporting our students to Clinton and taking lessons for the past three weeks. We appreciate all the help and it benefited our children and their swimming skills.

South Otago Athletics

Well done to all the Waiwera South students for their amazing efforts at the Small Schools Athletics. Everyone gave it their best efforts and by all accounts had fun while competing in the sun!

Being a Digital Citizen at Waiwera South School

At the beginning of the year students came up with how they are going to be good digital citizens when using devices. They had some excellent responses and I'm sure will be responsible, respectful and honest when using devices.

Self Portrait Art

Students have been very busy and motivated to complete their self portrait art from the beginning of the year.
Here are some of the finished products. Don't they look awesome??

Family Day Out at The Campbell's!

What a fantastic day we had at The Campbell's yesterday! The weather held off right to the end, allowing for the children and parents to make the most of the wonderful facilities. Thank you to all the families for coming to our family day out and supplying food for our BBQ. We also appreciated all your help on the activities, as I'm sure your children did as well. It was an excellent opportunity to interact with all of our families outside of school and a really positive way to start the year off. A final massive thank you goes to The Campbell's for allowing us to take over their paddock for the day!

First Post of 2016!!

Welcome parents and visitors to the Senior Room blog for 2016!

Make sure you tune into the blog and keep up to date with what is happening in the Senior Room this year.

It has been a busy week getting to know the 11 wonderful year 6-8 students! It is going to be a fun year, I can tell. We have been busy doing art, athletics, swimming and getting to know the class, learning lots about digital citizenship and the Waiwera South School motto "Learning For Life" and our school values; Responsibility, Respect and Honesty.

Looking forward to the year ahead.
